Following her training in Zurich, Helen has worked in many famous hotels including London's Café Royal, La Craft in Rome, and today runs her own business - Sugar Surgeons, based in the picturesque Cathedral City of Lichfield.

Helen is amongst only a handful of people in Britain who are accomplished specialists in the rare Swiss art of sugar sculpture, allowing her to create wedding cakes which are sheer works of art, each one having a unique style and beauty of it's own.

Prince Charles's cake At the Birmingham College of Food for Tourism, she first studied bakery, and was chosen to help create a magnificent three tier cake to celebrate the Prince of Wales's 40th Birthday. She has since travelled all over Europe giving demonstrations of her sugar craft work, going on to win the Gold Medal at Kondica, the Cake Making Olympics. Famous commissions include a special cake to mark the retirement of Sir Peter Wright, Director of the Royal Ballet, one to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and a spectacular model of the new CBSO building.

BBC 40 year anniversary She has now caught the eye of some of the major television stations, appearing on the 10th Anniversary of the This Morning show with Richard and Judy for Granada TV, and has also designed a cake for the Carlton Food Network Daily programme. Helen's designs are now featured in leading wedding magazines such as Wedding and Home, Weddings Annual and Vogue. Recent work includes cakes for the BBC, notably for the 1,000th episode of Doctors and the 40th Birthday celebrations of Radios 1,2,3 & 4.
